The shed is a refuge, traditionally a masculine space, traditionally outdoors. My work with sheds turned this upside down. After covering a variety of sheds in fabric all around the Midlands, I met Dan Whitehouse after a series of coincidences, accidents and emails. We subsequently made a shed that was a mobile, flat-pack performance space, a studio, a workshop, a gallery…

My adventures into using sound and songwriting in my work were aided and abetted by Dan. Shed Songs is where it all started. We have worked together occasionally since then too… please take a look at the Nine Women project.
