I am back in the studio for the second time since my op. The first time was a bit of a wash-out, I wasn’t really ready I don’t think.
Today I have come in with a packed lunch and intention.
I wanted to have a play with these pods/vessels that I have been making. I’m still making. I have been chucking them in the corner, but I wanted to find out how much surface they would cover, so I have been spending time drinking tea and arranging them, then rearranging them.
I’ve just finished reading Sing Like Fish by Amorina Kingdon.
It was spotted and bought for me as recuperation reading, and it’s got me all fired up in preparation for the fishy collaboration with Bill Laybourne, Helen Garbett and Rick Sanders.
It has got me thinking that’s for sure. It’s funny how things come together. And how time sorts itself out around you to make things possible. I came back into the studio with nothing on the wall, not much in my sketchbook either. I’d had a tidy up pre-op, and left the desk empty. I am in the right headspace now to play, I have no expectations, no deadlines, just thoughts that need to be thought about and materials that need to be played with.
So I post some photos, without knowing how this will turn out, or even if it will. It might just be one more tangent to be explored on the way to somewhere else…
